Through this alchemical process, we will compose a scent using botanical essential oils that embody the essence of your personal medicine place.

Scent evokes an atmosphere and mood within and around us. It refreshes, invigorates and soothes us. Scent has a powerful effect on the brain, particularly through its influence on neurotransmitters and the limbic system, which governs emotions, memory, and mood. When you inhale a scent, odor molecules travel through the olfactory nerve directly to the olfactory bulb in the brain. Unlike other sensory inputs (like touch or sound), scent bypasses the thalamus (the brain’s relay station) and goes straight to the limbic system, which controls emotions, memories, and behaviors. This is why smells can instantly trigger vivid memories or emotional responses. Scent, memory, and emotion are deeply intertwined, and certain aromas can subtly enhance oxytocin-driven feelings.
